4 Great Ways To Lose Weight Through Positive Self-talk

One cannot definitely say whether positive self-talk can help you lose weight.. No single, simple method exists in any part of the world that will surely help every overweight person lose weight. Just sitting in a quiet place and having a chat with yourself will not help you lose weight. In other words, positive self-talk is not a substitute for a weight loss program.

It will not help you shed pounds overnight. However, when you practise this technique perfectly, you can alter your state of mind in such a way that you become more receptive to the various aspects of the weight loss program that could help you lose weight. Self-talk does not mean that you can achieve your weight-loss goals without putting in any efforts at all. But it does mean getting motivated enought to accomplish your goals.

1. Determine if You are Really Overweight

Determine once and for all whether you really need to lose weight. Some people are sensitive about their weight because of negative comments made by friends or family and also because of the ideal of beauty created by the media and the advertisers. It could turn out that you, after all, have the perfect weight for your height.

To find out if you really need to lose weight, consult your physician. He or she will be able to inform you if your lifestyle and your weight are perfect for you.

2. Determine Reasons for Being Overweight

If you are leading a perfectly healthy lifestyle, but still have weight problems, you could be suffering from a medical disorder, such as thyroid imbalance. In such a case, your physicial will be able to prepare the correct treatment plan for you. In case of a medical disorder, neither positive self-talk nor a usual weight loss program will help you lose weight. You have to undergo medical treatment for such a condition.

If your problem is not caused by a medical disorder, you doctor could prescribe diet and exercise and also give you instructions about losing weight in a safe and healthy manner. In addition, your doctor could prescribe vitamins or other supplements.

If you have medical problems such as anemia and high blood pressure, you have to get rid of them before dieting or exercising. Such problems prevent you from losing weight safely. Your doctor will be of immense help to you here.

3. Set Your Weight-loss Goals

Before using positive self-talk to lose weight, you have to make firm decision to lose weight. Having done so, remind yourself in your self-talk session that you have decided to work toward a strong, healthy, and slim body. Visualize your appearance after you have successfully achieved your weight-loss goal. Continuously remind yourself of the goals you have set for yourself.

4. Use the Technique of Self-talk

You might have received a lot of information regarding your condition from you family doctor. Use this information in your technique of self-talk. The extra knowledge you have gained from your physician will help you discuss your problem in a more intelligent manner. Keep a peice of paper on which you have written the medical information whenever you have a self-talk session.

Remind yourself how wonderful you will feel once you have successfully completed the program. The medical information you have received from your doctor will form a firm foundation in your reminders to yourself regarding your goals. Reassure yourself that it is, indeed, possible to achieve your goals and become a healthier, slimmer person.

Spend a few minutes every day reminding yourself about your goals and assuring yourself. This will give you ample motivation to stick to your weight loss program and lose your excess weight to become a healthier, happier, slimmer, and more confident person.

How do I get my self motivated? I lose intrest really easily and arent very dilligent :( ?

I am mot that fat but I kinda need to lose some weight for the summer hols. But the problem is that I cant find the motivation to go for a run or excersise. Even though I want to do it, I for some reason wont :( HELP ME!!

i have read all of the other answers. well, dont take pills because it works. Loose weight naturally, and since its because of your lack of motivation. One thing you can do is just do things that will make your adrenaline rush okay? Like there is a video on youtube, ill post the url below. but this should Boost your adrenaline, it boosted mine and made me work out twice as hard. I agree with the answer from ithink his name was Hanzey or something like that? Him / her. i agree with that person, That lack of motivation happened to me aswell. i stopped doing all that, but now i set a schedule that i now follow and it feels good to do it because its fun. Another reason why you proberly lack motivation is because you dont have a GOOD enough reason to work out. You need a REAL good reason if you cant get amp’d up by Adrenaline rushing videos. But yeah, thats it. dont take pills because its better to do it the natural way okay ? NO PILLS !
