<p>Another great way to stay motivated is to find someone to be a workout buddy.&nbsp; A workout buddy is someone who will go to the gym with you or who will exercise with you.&nbsp; They can be someone to call you in the morning to get you out of bed to go running.&nbsp; Classes offered at the gym are another way to have &ldquo;workout buddies.&rdquo;&nbsp; The people who are there all have a common goal: to get fit.&nbsp; They are free to members.&nbsp; There are a wide variety of classes offered: yoga, Pilates, cardio, stretching, weight training, cycling, and many others.&nbsp; If you can&rsquo;t find a workout buddy creating a stimulating soundtrack is a good alternative.&nbsp; When creating a playlist start with songs that are slower so you can get warmed up.&nbsp; Then increase the tempo of the music to give you a good cardio or training section.&nbsp; It is also important to end with songs with a slower tempo so you can cool down. &nbsp;</p>
<p>Eating a proper diet with added protein, drinking water, and getting a workout buddy is a good way to stay motivated to get the results you want while losing weight.</p>

I am 13 and have been saving for about 3 months now (doing chores, mowing the lawn, selling things on craigslist.) and have $508 total, by the end of this month I plan on having around $800 &#8211; $900. <h2>Positive Coaching &#8211; Buying Time Until Success Arrives</h2>
<p>It is not earth shaking news to say that kids are all different, especially when it comes to the area of natural, athletic talent. Some kids are naturally talented while others are not, and most are somewhere in between. Likewise, young athletes have different levels of self-motivation, varying from very motivated, to those that are hardly motivated.</p>
<p>Most parents would obviously prefer to have very talented and motivated kids, of course, but those type athletes are often few and far between. Often, parents get so frustrated over unmotivated kids that their displays of unhappiness, actually, lead to the end for their child in sports.</p>
<p>The good news is that many young athletes, who lack motivation and natural talent at a young age, gain it at a later time. Where does this sudden motivation and talent come from? It almost always comes about because athletic success is achieved. Athletic success is the best motivator there is. Having success often leads to motivation, which causes a work ethic necessary to develop sport skills and athletic talent.</p>
<p>It can be a very disappointing time for parents when their kids stop playing sports and this day comes too soon for many youth athletes because of the negative parental and coaching tactics that many adults use. However, employing positive, self-esteem building words and advice can buy time to keep kids involved with sports, until that day comes when success and self-motivation kicks in, or until the day when both parents and kids realize it is time to move on to other activities. It is important to remember that rarely does success and subsequent motivation have a chance to arise, if parents become negative with their kids through demeaning words or actions.</p>
<p>Positive coaching words and advice parents can use:</p>
<p>1. Parents should explain that practice is necessary a chance at success. What is important is how parents say it to their kids. Blurting out, &#8220;You have to practice&#8221; immediately after a tough game is not the answer. Rather, &#8220;You were obviously upset over the way you played. You have a better chance of succeeding and avoiding those negative feelings if you dedicate more practice into it. If you want me to practice with you or want me to find someone else that can help, I will be more than willing to,&#8221; gets the point across to kids in a much less confrontational manner. It is never good to have young kids feel like they have to do everything on their own and the key is to let kids know that you (parents) are there to help in any way kids want. It is always best to give them options and not ultimatums.</p>
<p>2. Many kids work hard but still struggle with having any measure of athletic success. Letting these players know how much you appreciate their effort and how much you believe in them is crucial. Saying things like, &#8220;I know you tried your best and that&#8217;s all anyone can expect of you. There is a good chance the results will be different the next time,&#8221; provides hope and reassurance for athletes.</p>
<p>3. How parents define success to their kids is important. Explaining to youth that success is simply giving their best during preparation and play is advice that can provide kids with self-esteem, even when the results of their effort are not good. Parents who say, &#8220;Prepare to the best of your ability and give it your all and that is all I will ever expect,&#8221; are developing players with a good sport perspective.</p>
<p>4. Saying, &#8220;I am proud of you&#8221; to their kids are always good, positive coaching words that inspire kids.</p>
<p>Finally, I have never seen the alternative of pushing and nagging kids to work harder pay off as motivation in the long run.</p>

<p>Anyone ever think that if they hadn&#8217;t been born this world would&#8217;ve been a better place?</p>
<p>Honestly, I don&#8217;t always feel like this but ever now and then I think that if I wasn&#8217;t here, people would probably be much happier and especially my family would be better off without me.</p>
<p>Not suicidal or anything but just hypothetically I have been told by teachers, my parents, coaches, peers that I am going to be successful one day but I just don&#8217;t see it and I don&#8217;t think i have the motivation anymore either.</p>
<p>I am a junior in college now and I have amounted to no job, no girl, no sports, and no good gpa.</p>

<p>I have totally felt that way many times.  Finally I made a list of character traits that I feel are worthy of admiration. Things that I think would make this world a better place.  Then I tried to find ways to incorporate them into my life.  It worked for me.  It actually worked pretty fast.  A few things I&#8217;ve done: 1) I volunteer for Big Brothers Big Sisters and I absolutely love love love it.  I am doing a wonderful job at it and my little sister loves to spend time with me.  2) I joined a local political group.  Previously, I was always very quiet about my political views and often times that made me feel all alone.  When I joined a group of like minded people it made me feel so good. We educate ourselves on the local and big government issues.  We do what we can to try and make changes.  It feels very empowering instead of just sitting back and watching what is going on in the world.  3) I like people that look all put together ie: dress nice, hair nice, etc.  So I finally quit hiding behind sweat pants and baggy T-shirts and bought a few pieces of nice clothes that fit well.  Wow what a difference it made.  I feel more confident and ready to go do something productive.<br />
Is going to School something you want to do??  I know when I was in college it was so much easier to get good grades in the classes I was really interested in.  Do you want to play sports??  I wanted to play sports but really suck at it.  I took begining softball at the community college and had a lot of fun, I also found a church that has a softball team and played on that.  You don&#8217;t have to be good at it to have fun.  Everyone in the begining class and church environment were very supportive to each other. I hope I helped.  Just hang in there.  If you ever do start feeling suicidal please get help.  Take care, been there</p>

<p>If you&#8217;re looking for a fast weight-loss program, consider running. Running is one of the best ways to get and stay fit. It&#8217;s also great for boosting your energy, supporting a positive mindset and helping you feel clear and in control. And perhaps best of all, running costs next to nothing.</p>
<p>The Benefits of Running</p>
<p>Many people think running is just for elite athletes. This is not true &#8211; anyone can run. The key is to start off slowly. Even if you never hit a ten-minute mile or less, running provides benefits. There are no rules. You can be a fitness jogger or an elite marathon runner.</p>
<p>Running is also something you can do practically year around. Rain, sun or snow &#8211; you can get outside and get in shape. Of course you may not want to in the rain or snow. However, a little protective gear goes a long way. You may find you really enjoy running in inclement weather. It should be noted that you can run indoors as well. <p><b>I am running my first half-marathon, any suggestions?</b><br />

<p>It is in one week.  I have been running consistantly for only about 9 months.  I run about 8 miles 3 times a week.  I have never run further than 8 miles, so I am concerned, but I am still going for it.  When I run, my body still feels like it can go more, but my mind is the problem,  I need motivation.  Also what should I eat the day prior to and day of run?  Oh I am also scared that I will have to use the bathroom during the run and there will be no porta potties.  I don&#8217;t want to eat or drink too much so that this would be a problem, but i don&#8217;t want to eat too little.  I heard some take immodium.  Anyway any thoughts, suggestions, encouragement, would really be appreciated.

<p>To get the most out of your marathon training program physically you want to prepare for each session. It is important to get a good nights sleep every night because you will need to give your body a chance to recover and the best way the body can recover is when you are sleeping. Also you don&rsquo;t want to be slow and sluggish before your training sessions because you won&rsquo;t perform to your full potential which will hamper your overall marathon training program and waste time. So it is important to make sure you are well rested and your body is fresh and ready to go. </p>
<p>Another important thing to remember about your marathon training program is that you have to stretch and warm up correctly before you start training. Too often people go out there and start training without warming up correctly and end up injuring themselves and their marathon training program is put on the shelf. It is easy to skip the warm up and get straight into it but you must take the time out to warm up and stretch properly because not only will help you get more out of your marathon training program but it will help prevent injury.</p>

<h2>Motivation Through Adversity</h2>
<p>I&#8217;ve struggled with my weight my whole life. As far back as I can remember, I&#8217;ve felt bad about it. I was stuck in a body that wasn&#8217;t what I wanted, that didn&#8217;t fit with how I really saw myself and to me, it represented a weakness. Andrew Carnegie once said, &#8220;People who are unable to motivate themselves must be content with mediocrity, no matter how impressive their other talents.&#8221; In my heart and mind, I felt this struggle was keeping me from self mastery and frustrated the heck out of me.</p>
<p>Well, I&#8217;m thrilled to tell you that over the last year and a half, I&#8217;ve gone through a transformation. I have finally found what motivates me. Not only is my body healthier, my entire life exploding with energy and I no longer have that stagnant energy of the excess fat holding me back.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m not there yet. I have maybe sixty more pounds to go. However, I&#8217;m closer than I have been in decades to the ideal weight. That&#8217;s a significant step, I&#8217;d say.</p>
<p>So what was the impetus? How did I change my way of being for over 40+ years? My turning point was a death sentence. My doctor told me if I didn&#8217;t change, I was going to die. He had written me off. He said I had become diabetic and had almost died from a diabetic coma. He told me that I was going to be on insulin for my entire life and that I would going to have to inject myself every day and live my life (short life?) on pharmaceuticals to combat the disease. I didn&#8217;t like what I was hearing. I didn&#8217;t like the vision of my final years. After 140 pounds, I&#8217;m not on insulin, not on prescription medication, and I&#8217;m now the poster child for how to successfully deal with diabetes.</p>
<p>The first trigger here was that the doctor told me it couldn&#8217;t be done, basically, and this pissed me off. I told him that no one was going to sentence me to death. I also realized that if I continued on my path, my children wouldn&#8217;t have a father. I wanted to see them grow up and get married, I wanted to spend a long life with my wife, I wanted to continue to do my work. My physical discomfort and appearance were not enough to snap me out of my carbohydrate/sugar stupor. I found that to shock me out of that, I needed to get really angry. I needed someone to prove wrong, in this case that person was my doctor.</p>
<p>So I got myself a weight loss coach and began to learn all about nutrition. He said to me, &#8216;If I ate as many carbs a day as you do, I&#8217;d be on insulin within a month, I&#8217;d be big as a house, I&#8217;d have one foot in the grave.&#8217; He explained to me that the human body simply cannot process that much sugar. Either I had to figure out the right amount of fuel my body needed, or I was going to die.</p>
<p>What did I need to do? Well, I had to start eating protein and cut out simple carbohydrates. No more prepared foods, low fat, no fast food, no prepared foods, exercise consistently and smartly. . .all the things you know you have to do to lose weight. I&#8217;m not there yet. I&#8217;m not perfect all the time, but I&#8217;m determined and I&#8217;m happy to say that I feel great and my family is going to have me around for a long time.</p>
<p>A desire and willingness to do something isn&#8217;t necessarily enough. My trigger was anger.</p>
<p>Where are you stuck? Are you stuck financially, physically? Are you stuck in a relationship? Are you on the cusp of greatness, just on the edge, but can&#8217;t seem to make that next big step? What will your trigger for change be?</p>

<p>i have read all of the other answers. well, dont take pills because it works. Loose weight naturally, and since its because of your lack of motivation. One thing you can do is just do things that will make your adrenaline rush okay? Like there is a video on youtube, ill post the url below. but this should Boost your adrenaline, it boosted mine and made me work out twice as hard. Him / her. i agree with that person, That lack of motivation happened to me aswell. i stopped doing all that, but now i set a schedule that i now follow and it feels good to do it because its fun. Another reason why you proberly lack motivation is because you dont have a GOOD enough reason to work out. You need a REAL good reason if you cant get amp&#8217;d up by Adrenaline rushing videos. But yeah, thats it. dont take pills because its better to do it the natural way okay ? NO PILLS !</p>
