Exercises For Abs – Visualization a Technique That Keeps You Motivated

Visualization is a tool which you can easily learn and apply daily. Find a quiet place, close your eyes and imagine a body you want to have. Don’t rush. Take your time and enjoy what you see. Imagine how you would feel, other people reactions and, especially, the joy. Once you have your image ready you can go back to it every time you want regardless the place. My advice is to use this technique as often as possible but at least twice a day. Let it be the first thing you do after you wake up and the last thing before you fall asleep.

The important thing you need to be aware of is the fact that visualization can be a double edge sword. If the image you created is corrupted in any way it can lead to a disaster or at least you not achieving anything. If everyone around keeps saying that you will never have a six pack because of whatever reason and you let them affect the image in your mind you have already failed. One of the ways to deal with this kind of situation is to go back to your original picture of your body and the feelings you originally felt.

If you have problems creating a dream body image in your mind there is another technique which will help. Create a poster from a magazine. It’s simple as that. You just pick a picture of a body you like, cut off the face and paste your own. Next, place the poster in the place you can easily see it everyday. In fact this technique is even more powerful than simple visualization as it involves physical tasks. You probably noticed that when you physically do something you remember it for a long time.

As you can see now it’s very simple tool to apply and follow. But you won’t get dreamed six pack if you just keep imagining it. Visualization is a very powerful technique that keeps you motivated and helps you focus on your goal but on it’s owns it won’t change your body. Only hard, consistent work can do it.

To your success!

JumpStart Your Employee Motivation: Ten Secrets to Empower Your Team

One of the important keys to employee motivation is to empower your employees to be successful. An empowered employee leads to the following benefits:

* Increased creativity
* Increased productivity
* Increased teamwork and motivation
* Increased initiative
* Increased ownership of work
* Reduced employee turnover
* Reduced human resources situations
* Better work environment
* Increased results for your organization
* Increased career opportunities

The following are ten motivation techniques to jumpstarting your employee motivation and empowering your team to outstanding results:

1. Motivate Your Employees to Find Solutions
Encourage your employees to be solution creators instead of problem creators. When employees communicate a problem to you, look at it as an opportunity to empower the employees. Ask the employees how they would solve the problem, express your confidence that they are the person to solve the problems, give them the tools to solve the problem, and follow up with them. You have just empowered those employees to find ways in the future to create solutions and made your team more productive at the same time.

2. Motivate Your Employees by Soliciting Opinions
Many times during our busy work day, we find it difficult to ask for opinions from our employees. But just the act of asking for their opinions tells your employees that you value their input and motivates them to accomplish more. Just imagine, it may be the first time that an employer has ever asked them for their opinion, and they appreciate it.

3. Motivate Your Employees by Managing to Their Level
Learn your employees’ skill, experience, and motivation levels for performing workplace tasks. Then assign the task and follow-up based on your findings. For example, you may need to follow up more frequently with an employee who is fairly new to the project or organization as opposed to the “veteran” employee who doesn’t need much follow-up. Remember, the most skilled employee may not be the most motivated for performing the task you request.

4. Motivate Your Employees by Delegating Tasks
Delegation is one of the most powerful motivation tools for empowering employees in the workplace. The sheer act of your delegating a task shows your employees that you have the confidence in them that they can do the job. Make sure you understand the task to be delegated so that you can clearly and concisely communicate how to do the task and hand off “ownership” of the task to the employees. Delegation is providing your employees with ownership of the task, providing the tools for successfully completing the task, expressing the reward and consequences for completing the task and following up accordingly.

5. Motivate Your Employees by Encouraging Ideas
Ideas are the lifeblood of any organization, department, and team. I always say that every mind is too important to miss that one idea that can increase productivity, reduce expenses, or increase profit. Empower your employees by creating a safe environment for your employees to share their ideas. Remember, the idea that doesn’t make sense today might be exactly the solution you are looking for a week from now.

Always give your employees credit for the ideas they express. Nothing will decrease employee motivation and dry up the flow of ideas quicker than having managers take credit for their employees’ ideas. If your employees are coming up with ideas, reward them publicly. You will be amazed how the flow of ideas from motivated employees will increase with each public recognition.

6. Motivate Your Employees by Letting Them Run Your Meetings
One of the best ways to motivate and empower your employees is to involve them in running your meetings. Of course, you will set the agenda; but there are many opportunities for you as a leader to let your employees run portions of or the entire meeting. Take the time to work with the designated employees ahead of time so that they are confident with the assigned meeting tasks. During the meeting, you are there to support them and help with any sections of the meeting that may provide a challenge for them.

I suggest that you allow as many opportunities for different employees to lead different meetings as possible. By allowing your employees to play leadership roles in your meeting, you will develop your employees for future opportunities and open additional opportunities for you as a leader.

7. Motivate Your Employees by Embracing Mistakes
Without mistakes, there is no growth. Allowing your employees to make mistakes allows your employees to grow, be creative, and provide a vehicle for empowerment. Create a safe work environment so that when your employees make mistakes, they are not punished. Use the mistakes your employees make as learning experiences. Ask your employees how they would have performed the task differently and allow them to tackle the task again. Your employees will gain a new sense of empowerment and feel confident that you will support them when they try something new.

8. Motivate Your Employees by Assigning Leadership Roles
Leadership comes at all levels and doesn’t require a title. Take the time to align your employees’ skills with leadership opportunities. Make sure you provide training in the areas of opportunities for each employee so that they are empowered to step up to new opportunities.

9. Motivate Your Employees by Rewarding Initiative
Create rewards for employees who take initiative. Publicly recognize employees during meetings, with reward boards, etc., so that other employees are motivated to take initiative.

10. Motivate Your Employees by Getting Goal Setting Buy-In
Your employees will be far more motivated to achieve your goals if they are allowed to help develop those goals. Involve your employees in the goal setting process and get their input so that it becomes believable for them. Once your employees feel ownership of your goals, they will be motivated to move quickly to help accomplish your goals.

Apply these employee motivation tips and you will motivate your team, achieve greater results, and quickly accomplish your goals.

Helping You To Thin Out The Clutter Surrounding Self Help Audio Programs

When you look online at the numerous programs that normally find a great deal of popularity, self help audio programs often top the list. Self help audio programs are designed by several different individuals who in turn have their programs endorsed by several different, more famous individuals.

With self help audio tapes the idea is that the person that has paid for and is listening to the programs could find a change in their life for the better. The problem with this plan is that the internet has assisted in twisting the concept of the self help audio program. The truth is that several self proclaimed gurus and activists are no more than individuals looking to take advantage of a demand and profit financially.

There does exists a high demand for self help audio programs as many more people are not satisfied with their present state of life. Individuals struggle each day to survive, fighting to make their earning, struggling against weight problems and are often burdened by poor health. This poor way of living creates a desire to rise above the individual decline, though few have the determination to accomplish this on their own.

The truth is that individuals turn toward self help audio programs as a crutch or tool of support. This support system is designed to aid them in recognizing the weaknesses of their life and resetting the clock so that their life can be dramatically changed. Though, many of the people that have identified this need are looking to exploit it in order to find financial gain.

So how could a person in need of the support provided by self help audio programs discover legitimate resources of information over the financially greedy programs? To start it’s important to identify where you are receiving this self help audio program from. Self proclaimed gurus and opportunists are often easy to identify when you take the time to research the history of the self help industry.

Any program which is trustworthy is normally associated with a person who has been involved in the self help industry for a significant length of time and is often a medical professional. Remember that anyone can write a self help audio program but it takes a real expert to create a program which will offer the individual results.

So when you begin your search into the vast options which are available regarding self help audio programs remember to take your time. Regardless of how good a program sounds, remember that words could be twisted and make sure you are buying from a reputable source in the self help industry.

How do i get higher self esteem? Please help!?!?!?!?

I already write in a journal, take hot baths, and listen to music. My stress is SO bad that i lose my appetite and don’t eat anything other than a snack for the whole day. My self esteem is getting in the way of my relationship. And i’m only 13!!! Please help!

I’m glad you are deciding early on to seek improvement. This shows great maturity for your age, and I hope you give yourself credit for taking responsibility. Good for you!

1. If you or your family has a history of anxiety, it can be diet related. I know someone whose anxiety condition was caused by abnormal blood sugar levels, and got medical help to fix the imbalance. Her uncle had diabetes, and another relative had anxiety, and it turns out this ran in the family. So she got help in advance, to prevent from getting the same problems they did.

2. If it is spiritual, in your thoughts or emotions, can you look into the patterns of your relationship with your father or family? It is common for issues of “control” or “desire for approval” to be linked to fears or conflicts passed down from parents as authority-figures. So if you communicate, confront any fears, and reach an understanding, you can overcome any past patterns that may cause repeat insecurity, fear or stress. You will feel empowered by taking steps yourself. (If there were any past issues that made you feel weaker or inferior, if you can “forgive” these causes, and agree in the future not to let this affect you as much, and remember you are a “hero” and not a victim of the past, this method helps many people to move forward with courage and confidence.)

3. Please note that if you feel this is affecting your relationship, your partner may ALSO have patterns with a parent that is repeating like “role-playing.” How you see your parents’ relationships can affect how you treat each other, whether there is an imbalance of control or stress, or you have equal respect and harmony. So this is a good opportunity to study and learn to develop your best strengths, and resolve any weaknesses or conflicts early on, so you can enjoy life and relationships more fully.

Take care, and be sure to track your ideas and progress in your journal. So you can focus on the positive steps you are taking and build from there!

Best wishes
Yours truly,
Emily

P.S. Since you seem so advanced for your age, may I recommend a book that is normally given to high school graduates. “What Color is your Parachute” by Dr. Richard Bolles. The manual is FILLED with fun exercises and charts to evaluate your best interests, skills and talents, and show what jobs use them. So you can start thinking ahead what kind of work or career you would most like to look into. Some kids start a business while they are still in high school. If you can direct your energy and focus on something you enjoy doing well with your natural talents, that may help your esteem at the same time. There is also a manual “You Can Do It” by Lauren Catuzzi Grandcolas full of project and career ideas for young women, step by step. Again, another great resource for researching and visualizing different skills or goals you might like to try out! Go for it!

how to get out of my depressed mood right now?

im usually a pretty happy person. but today im just upset about school and my grades, (im a college student). and i am in a terrible mood right now. i really could use a friend to talk to but no one wants to listen. i also dont like ranting to my friends too much, dont want to be a burden on them.

i have a 10 page research paper to write, due tomorrow night and i have no motivation whatsoever. i really just want to sit in bed and go to sleep, and do nothing. i worked this past week 6 days in a row, along with going to school.i also had a dance performanc earlier today, thats an extracurricular activity that i do. i just wish i could sit home for a day and do nothing.

im just in a crappy mood right now.

what can i do to feel better?
why the f*** doesnt anyone answer? this is so aggravating

If you’re usually a happy person, then lets assume that this mood you’re in will soon pass over. When it does, you’ll regret not working on that paper. If you’re paying good money for your education, don’t waste it. I remember pulling late nights back in college (many years ago now!) and making it an adventure. I’d relish the nights and think about the fact that at some point, my life will change and there’s no way I’d be up all night. Then…my kids came and that theory was proven wrong! Nonetheless, these stresses must be looked at logically, and not emotionally. I make lists and look at these busy times like schedules that need to be followed. Prioritize what needs to be done and start knocking stuff off, all the while leaving room every day to do something for yourself. About this paper, do you have an all-night, or late-night, radio station you can listen to? I used to love gettin the oldies stations and listen to Zepplin or The Doors or even the Beatles at 3am in the morn. I took breaks on the hours and would take walks to help wake up. If it’s due tomorrow night, then you still have plenty of time. Work until a certain hour, get some rest, then plan to work on the paper tomorrow. Approach it like a job and when your “shift” is over, realize that that’s all you can do at this point and hand that beeyotch in! By the way, what’s the topic? The course? I teach english and could give you some pointers.

10 Ways to Motivate Yourself

Wish we could all stay motivated forever – but we all know that that is not possible. There are however steps you can take to get yourself back into groove sooner rather than staying low for long periods of time. Here are my top ten ways to get yourself motivated:

1. Motivation Books: This is my number one tip. Books written by experts are full of tips and strategies to motivate you. True motivational stories are inspirational.

2. Motivational Music: Music can always do wonders to your mood – Buy good motivating CDs, MP3s or download from iTunes. You can just let It play in the background and continue doing your work. I like to listen to positive music – irrespective of whether or not I need a dose of motivation.

3. Audio Books: These again can be played in the background – does not require too much of your involvement (like books). Listening to interview podcasts with successful people is another effective method.

4. Take a Walk: Sometimes just getting away from you work and taking a walk can be very effective. It refreshes your mind and helps you get clarity on issues at hand.

5. Motivational Quotes: Just a few well written quotes can do wonders to your mood. This is why desktop calendars with good quotes are so popular. Reading a quote at the start of the day can help you start your day on a positive note.

6. Past Successes: Remember your past successes. Remind yourself how you worked through the obstacles and achieved your goal at the end. This can be quite uplifting.

7. Become Picky: Be very picky about the type of news you consume (in the media). Too much television or too much depressing news can have negative effect.

8. Break Up Your Goal: Break your goal into simple actionable steps. Do a few easy ones first. Once you can actually see what it will take to get your goal, things will seem far more attainable.

9. Deadline: Set yourself a deadline – share with others that you plan to finish something before a certain day.

10. End Result: Spend some time thinking and listing down all that you will gain by moving ahead on a project – at the same time also list down what you will lose by working on a project. Sometimes just seeing it all paper can work miracles on your mind.

I am looking to Self-Publish/Print my upcoming Novel. I plan to upload it to places such as Amazon’s Kindle etc, but I am also looking to Print paperback copies too. I was wondering if anyone knows of any good websites that will print books? Let you add your own covers front/back etc etc.

These sites MUST be UK based. It would cost too much for shipping if I were to use a USA based company.

Thanks for any help you can provide.
cathrl69, thanks for the reply.
To go to a book-publisher, you need an agent. And I doubt I could afford one. If you know of any websites with publishing novel advise, either self-publishing or market-publishing, I’d be greatful for any links.
AJ, most publishers will only deal with agents now, and not look at stuff sent in by the auther.

I’ve self published, but if money is an issue, self publishing is not the cheap way to go for a novel, especially if you don’t have publishing skills. If you can’t do the layout yourself, then you need to hire someone to do it, likely a vanity-press and pay their vanity package fee which is going to be at least a few hundred pounds, maybe a thousand. Then when you get the books, you need to market them. Niche self published books can sometimes be marketed directly to the audience inexpensively, but that is not the case with novels. Having your book on Amazon is a way for people to buy it, but it does not constitute marketing. There are many, many self published books on Amazon that have never sold a single copy. For people to buy your book, they need to know about it and unless you have a small, defined target audience that marketing is going to cost you a lot of money.

If it’s a novel with potential, you are not limited to the smaller sales volume many niche books are. Why not have a traditional publishing company publish it, risk none of your own money and get royalties.

If you still really want to self publish, one place I’d look is createspace since they are owned by Amazon which is very much tied to the kindle books. I’m not sure if they have a U.K. printer or not.

Employee Motivation

For motivational methods to be successful, clear targets, goals, aims, purpose and values between employees and the organisation must be set up, as these are the most fundamental aspects of motivation. By ensuring that each employee is aligned with the organisation, it will be easier (and sometimes not even necessary) to apply motivational tactics.

Motivation will be most difficult to pursuit when the connection between the employees and the organisation is not aligned, and set by clear goals and aims. If motivation does succeed in this instance, it is often only for the short term.

Motivation is complex, and many businesses often employ motivational speakers to help them with this mammoth task. Different things motivate different people, and it is important to recognise this to use it to its full potential.

There are many motivational theories that can be applied to businesses, however Erik Erikson’s life stage theory is one of the more successfully applied theories. This theory recognises that motivational receptiveness and potential chances from day to day and from situation to situation in everyone. If the targets and goals are solid at the beginning, then all motivational methods will work better.

As different people are motivated by different things, it is important to recognise that people are always motivated by something they can relate to. To make the most of this, businesses must identify with their staff what motivates them the most, to fully exploit any motivational methods. This forms a solid foundation with the staff on which to build on, and without it any motivational tactics are likely to fail.

Once these building blocks have been put into place, motivational tactics can be applied. One of the more popular tactics is to employ a motivational speaker such as Sebastian Coe, while others use Motivational Quotes, poems, posters, stories and team building exercises to develop motivation over time.

One of the advantages of using a motivational speaker is that the speaker will share success stories, failure stories and their own advice on how they have dealt (or not dealt) with different situations. This gives the employees something solid to relate to.

Whilst these motivational tactics can be applied, it is also important to remember that a good leader has natural motivational skills and inspirational techniques. The motivational speakers and motivational tactics will impact employees; however their effectiveness may not be long lasting, depending on how well they are executed. For guaranteed long term motivation, there must be a manger or leader that has natural motivational skills. These might just be a positive attitude towards the staff, or giving them your trust.

Playing games is also a great way to motivate staff, as the sense of winning in any context will improve motivation. Once they have achieved something, people will be more motivated to achieve and do better when working, regardless of context.

All of these tactics, methods and skills have positive impacts on staff motivation, but it is up to you how they are executed.

Utilize Self-Help Groups

A second suggestion for empowering older adults is to utilize self-help groups. The rationale for this is grounded in theories about how help is best received. Recent thinking suggests that help is best received when there is no stigma attached, the person receiving help has control over the help, the help is given while training the person to help others, the help receiving is temporary, and receiving help is part of the overall spirit of the institution where services are being provided.2 In some ways, selfhelp groups epitomize how help is best received.

There are many types of self-help groups that could be offered through a counseling practice or as an adjunct to counseling. These include groups for (a) older adults themselves (perhaps organized around specific presenting problems, such as anxiety or hypertension, or perhaps around learning new skills, such as problem-solving or communication skills); (b) relatives of older adults (for example, adult children and spousal caregivers of older adults); and (c) special interest groups, such as religious or political groups. Additional benefits to self-help groups are that not only can they provide a psychological sense of community, but they provide older adults with role models, social relationships and opportunities to learn and practice new coping strategies.3 To empower means to authorize, share power with, or invest with power.

Become Gatekeepers to the Aging Network

The third recommendation for empowering older adults is that Christian counselors become gatekeepers to the aging network. The aging network refers to those public and private organizations at all levels (federal, state, and local) that offer needed services to older persons.4 (See selected old_resources below.) These services include adult education and senior centers for the minimally impaired and community mental health centers, case management systems, and medical daycare for those who face more challenging circumstances. In addition to these community- based old_resources, the aging network is also comprised of home-based old_resources, such as home repair and transportation services for older adults, and more intensive services, such as foster family care, Meals on Wheels, home health care, and in-home hospital care. Institutional support can also be offered through retirement communities and senior housing as well as the more structured services found in group homes, respite care, acute hospitals, and hospice care.5 An exciting and emerging resource in the aging network is the Internet. It has been estimated that over 7.5 million Internet users in the U.S. and Canada are age 50 and older.

Some view this as a market niche and have created websites to appeal to older adults (for example, SeniorCom at www.senior.com provides products, services, information, and entertainment to older adults). Others coordinate not-forprofit services to older adults and their families, offering book clubs, education about computer technology, and other services (for example, SeniorNet at www.seniornet.org). Still others focus on legal assistance. For example, the SeniorLaw Home Page at www.seniorlaw.com is a website designed for older adults and their families who might want information on Elder Law, Medicare, and estate planning, among other relevant topics. Similar websites expressly target low-income older adults, women, and minorities (for example, the National Senior Citizens Law Center at www.nsclc.org). The Internet will undoubtedly broaden the aging network by expanding the number of old_resources that will be available at the fingertipsof older adults. Christian counselors become old_resources to the elderly when they are aware of and function as gatekeepers to the broad network of services available to older adults.

The Theological Reality of Empowerment

Christians should be cautious, of course, about secular notions of empowerment. A secular understanding often rests on the assumption that everyone has the right to self-actualization, and self-actualization becomes the final measure of human life and well-being. Empowerment can quickly fall into a form of radical individualism steeped in evolutionary psychology and the utter rejection of any kind of dependence upon others. This falls short of a Christian understanding of personal worth before God or of personal, corporate, and structural sin. It fails to recognize our dependence upon God and on the Body of Christ, the chief means through which God chooses to work out his purposes in

the world. Empowerment is an important concept to Christian counselors because its meaning is broadened and deepened as we consider the work of the Holy Spirit. Christians are empowered by God because God shares the power of the Holy Spirit, like a father gives his children good gifts (Luke 11:13). The Holy Spirit resides in us and helps produce Christian character (1 John 4:13; Gal. 5:22-23). God empowers us to live in accordance with the Spiritby which we have our minds set on what the Spirit desires(Rom. 8:5).Take help from telephone counseling.

The Holy Spirit is not only concerned to empower us, but also advocates for us through intercessions that are consistent with Gods will (Rom. 8:26). Finally, a Christian understanding of empowerment takes on eschatological significance because the empowerment that Christians experience is a deposit (2 Cor. 5:5) that assures us of Gods intention to glorify himself through our glorification. Christian counselors can expand and enrich the services they provide to older adults by empowering them through our counseling practices and knowledge of available old_resources. As Christians have been empowered, so, too, we empower others. We are also called to attend to those persons who hold a special place in Gods heart, especially the underserved and marginalized.

Under what circumstances would the court set aside a legal guardianship in California?

What information can be written in a JV-180 so that the court will set aside (overturn) a legal guardianship and return my kids. I have searched many places (self help center, legal aid, to name a few) and still cannot find any advice or help with putting “worthy” information in the form. I have little money due to tuition increases, and cannot afford a lawyer who specializes in “family law”. The court has already rejected my form twice when I’ve done it on my own. I’m a good person and I need help; what should I do?

There’s no way you can get a court to “set aside” a legal guardianship without a family law attorney. No way at all. Yahoo will not help you here, you need a lawyer.
